My favorite wedding of all time
My Favorite Wedding of All Time - An intimate and small wedding in Casa da Volta
Since I became a wedding photographer, my mom would often ask me: “If you were to get married tomorrow, where and how would you do it?”
The answer was not always clear in my mind when I began my career in wedding photography, but it was after shooting the wedding of Patricia & Christian in Casa da Volta back in 2022 that the answer became clear.
So I answered my mom - “If I were to get married tomorrow it would be similar to the Casa da Volta wedding”.
I still remember the day of the wedding, driving through the landscape of Alentejo, the warm air, windows open to feel the breeze and listen to the surroundings of the scenario - it brought me back a bit to my childhood when my grandmother and I used to pass long summers together in Alentejo.
I googled Casa da Volta before the wedding to see what it looked like but it wasn't until I arrived that I saw the true beauty of this place.
Casa da Volta has modern architecture that somehow blends perfectly with the landscape of beautiful Alentejo and once you enter the walls you can see the love for minimalist architecture design that I love to shoot.
Patricia and Christian focused on three major aspects to make this beautiful wedding happen:
1. Wedding Venue matching your style : Casa da Volta has modern architecture that somehow blends perfectly with the landscape of beautiful Alentejo and once you enter the walls you can see the love for minimalist architecture design that I love to shoot.
2. Small number of guests: the wedding of Patricia and Christian was super small, only close family and friends were invited and it made a total of 15 guests. This made Casa da Volta the perfect wedding venue for such an intimate wedding.
3. Good food and good wine: They hired TwoPack Kitchen for catering for the evening and I must say that it was by far one of the best food I ever ate at a wedding. I was not gonna write about it because I’m not a huge fan of cakes kind of guy but the wedding cake was absolutely amazing and I really need to mention it. If you are looking for the BEST wedding cake ever talk to Migalha Doce.
So yes, if I were to get married tomorrow I would love to have a small intimate wedding with only the most important family and friends to keep it as intimate as possible, find a small yet good-looking venue that would please my eye, and finally invest in a proper catering with good food and wine.
The next articles will probably be about wedding venues that I believe are the top wedding venues in Portugal like Casa da Volta and if I talk about wine and weddings I have to talk about another wedding venue that I love to shoot at which is Quinta Morgado do Quintão, Algarve where I did the wedding of Nadia & Octavio.
